The Allenstown Police Department is made up of ten full-time police officers, six patrolmen, a detective, a sergeant, a lieutenant, and the chief of police. They proudly serve the approximately 5,000 residents of Allenstown 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
They operate from the police department at 40 Allenstown Road, also known as Route 3. They use six patrol cars, which includes the chief’s car and a supervisor’s Ford Explorer.
The department is dispatched by the Merrimack County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center which is also staffed 24 hours a day. If no one is in the station or one calls 911, the call is sent directly to the Merrimack County Sheriff's Office who will contact the officers on duty.
